Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his first title for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally splitting with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive win over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after that period of 2023.
Victory also signifies the Russian has secured 21 championships at 21 distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.
The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his ability to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, reinforced by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a third set.
He defended four early-game chances in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner earned the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
